My counselling practice is located in Aldington, within easy reach of Ashford and the surrounding areas. My expertise is based upon a person-centered approach, which I believe is key to the process of guiding my clients in their journey through counselling. This approach focuses on equal understanding, acceptance and trust between client and counsellor; it allows for the idea that human beings can find fulfillment of their own personal potential with the guided help of a empathic counsellor.
This approach enables me to create a strong empathetic foundation for the relationship and dialogue between my clients and I within this service. I believe that each of my clients have their own unique circumstances and I shall build my relationship and walk alongside them whilst helping them to understand and come to terms with their experience.
Who I work with
I have wide variety of experience counselling clients, and am happy and willing to see anyone that wishes to grow and reach their full potential.
I specialise in two areas:
I have worked extensively with those who have experienced all types of abuse; childhood abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence, emotional abuse and physical abuse. I have specialised training in these areas and am sensitive to the difficulties clients may face in communicating their experiences. I offer a confidential, non-judgemental space for my clients to express themselves.
Children and Young people
I have also worked primarily with young people, starting from age 11. Early intervention is crucial to a child’s development and can help prevent serious mental health difficulties later in life. I provide a safe and comfortable space for children to express their thoughts and feelings, often combining talking therapy with play and art therapy to allow children to express themselves in ways that they may find more comfortable. I am trained in child protection and risk assessments.
